Week 2 - New Day (Natasha Chiaviello Photography, Mahwah, NJ)

I should be all like yay it's friday but I just woke up in a funk today. Did you ever have one of those days? No real reason, you just feel like you might need a good cry? Yup that was me this morning. The kids had a delayed opening and as soon as I walked in and saw this, I said fuck it I am going outside and taking some pics.

You know what I mean moms...am I right? Somedays it just feels like groundhogs day...

Anyway, I had to just break out of the funk bc I hate moping. I started thinking about the first time I picked up a camera in high school...I had no clue what I was doing and would take pictures of landscapes and tombstones. Yup tombstones...I used to go to the cemetary and take pics of the tombstones, develop the black and white prints and then paint them with watercolors. I have no clue why...I just did.

So that's what I did, I went for a walk to find the little piece of magic that I pass every time I leave the house and every single time I do I think how perfect it would be for a photo shoot.

Isn't it pretty? It reminds me of the Chronicles of Narnia and the first time Lucy walked through and met Tumnus.

Really, it's just this little island before you get on 17...surprise. Hey, you never know what will make a great little spot. Gotta keep your eyes & imagination open ;)

Love my Sorels...that's it. I hate snow, I really do. I probably suffer from seasonal depression because I seriously crave the sun but I do get happy when I get to wear my boots.

Ahhh, I feel better now. Had a good cry and laugh with my sis, taking the kids to see Kung Fu Panda and I actually kept up with this little project of mine. I guess that's what it's all about..finding gratitude, finding the blessing in the everyday. Even in these little funks or blah days because they are there.

Do you want to play along? Feel free to join in anytime and share a bit of your a bit of your everyday. Use #ncpnewdayproject and share..I will make sure to feature those of you that do on the blog.
